| Jul. 20th, 2006 09:59 pm Busy, Busy,Busy. Normally I really dig my free time, and I just looked around and realized I haven't had any in weeks, and it's not getting better any time soon.
On the plus side, the next week should be a blast, I'm part of an independent production company and every year for the last three years we donate a week of our time to a local museum and give a summer "movie camp".
The kids come and learn the ins and outs, the do's and a lotta dont's of making a movie, they get input into scripting, set design, special effects, and actually get to star in the feature, we wrap it up, handle post production, and then give them a world premiere at a local theater, red carpet - press, the whole shebang, and finally they receive directors cut dvd with the making of and behind the scenes stories.
We all have a great time, but are left drained after it is all over, ah well back to the grindstone, I have a sarcophagus to finish.

| Jun. 5th, 2005 07:47 pm Birthday Another year older, and deeper in debt. Ah well.
You know I never was really fond of birthdays as a kid, to me it just meant I was another year closer to having to get a job and pay bills, and now many years later, I can see I was entirely correct. After I turned the dreaded 18(the age of responsibility) all birthdays since have been a bit of a yawn.
21- Drinking was never a big deal so, no big. 30- Just a number. 40- I'll have to let you know in a few years.
Some folks seem to try to dig at you, "Another year older", "Is that a gray hair?" and so on, but I don't see it ever being that big a deal for me. The next birthday that will have any meaning for me will be the one I miss(grin).
Getting old beats the alternative, and the only thing that suprises me is when some of these youngsters say something that really draws attention to the passage of time. One of my friends kids walked in while we were watching "High Fidelity" and he happened to looked at the screen as they pulled out a record. He had a stunned expression and exclaimed,"Look at the size of that CD."
Another example is when I signed up for DSL I recieved an Incredibles telephone. It's push button, but modeled after the old table top rotary. Like the presidents "Red" phone. I couldn't stop laughing as my niece tried to figure out how to dial it, and having known nothing but cordless phones, her attempts at trying to end the call and hang up were even funnier.
That's enough rambling, Happy Birthday to me, and to all a good night. Dark Current Mood: blah Current Music: Leneord Cohen "Speak no More"

| May. 29th, 2005 09:02 am 234 plus my 5 Because I never saw a movie meme I didn't like... Gakked from mara_sho
Take this list and post it into your own LJ, and bold the movies you've seen. Add five more movies to the end of the list. Count how many movies you have seen. If you've seen more than 70 movies, you are a "movie whore". Post the score of how many movies you've seen in the subject line. Use a LJ-cut since you've got at least one LJ-friend who doesn't really want to see an ungodly number of movies snaking its way down the computer monitor. (optional, extra credit) Question your friend's taste in movies.

| May. 29th, 2005 08:36 am The Begining. Hello to any who happen upon this, This is my first entry, after having followed more than a few links here for fan fiction I thought I would check it out further and see how it goes. So far everything has been rather simple, but I'm sure I'll be hitting some speed bumps at any moment. What can I say, today was a good day to try.
